FireTox awarded SFPE Foundation Grant to Study the Impacts of Thermal Runaway Events

Our team is happy to announce that we have been awarded an SFPE Foundation research grant which will support our work on “Environmental and Health Impacts of Thermal Runaway Events in Outdoor Lithium-Ion Battery Storage System (BESS) Installations." The primary objective is to better understand the health and environmental aspects of li-ion BESS fires such as products of combustion, factors that influence propagation, and firefighting tactics. The research project will be lead by our Technical Director, Dr. Jamie McAllister, Senior Project Engineer, Brendan McCarrick and Staff Engineer, Zelda Zhao.
